Join team Tancredo.

While I like what I see in Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo has so far been the one candidate that has taken the toughest stance against illegal immigration. Because of this, he is sometimes referred to as a "one issue candidate". The truth however, is that he stands for conservative values across the board. Furthermore, every era has an issue that rises above all other issues because it is an issue that affects so many other ones. Ronald Reagan spent an enormous amount of time and resources toward winning the cold war because it was the most important issue of the time. This did not make him a one issue candidate and Tom Tancredo's understanding that our porous borders and apathetic approach to immigration control is a threat to our national security does not make him a one issue candidate.

As good of a job as our military is doing in Afghanistan and Iraq, they cannot be expected to go out, find, and kill every person who has the intent and means of causing harm to our country. If we do not secure our borders and regulate who enters our country, that is exactly what they are being expected to do if we want to remain safe from another 9/11. It's not enough to have our military fighting our enemies overseas, we must also keep them from getting to our shores and through our borders. Not only does Tom Tancredo understand this, but he has the conviction to go after the businesses that are fighting border security for their own selfish desire for an unlimited amount of cheap laborers. Does anybody really believe that we have a shortage of unskilled laborers in this country? It's not about a shortage of such workers, it's about keeping wages and benefits down in order to increase profit margins to the businesses that use illegal workers. This issue impacts many other issues such as crime, education, the price of gas, the environment, etc. The threat to our national security might be the most pressing reason that we must start controlling our borders but it is far from the only reason. Me and my family.

This picture was taken in Boulder, Colorado. We love to travel in our RV. We also love to ride our dirtbikes with our kids. Most of our free time is spent doing things with our kids that mostly have to do with the outdoors. We are both solid conservatives, to the right of President Bush and the Republican party in general. We are Pro-America, Pro-military, and support the war on terror. We will be voting for either Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter in the Republican primaries. I would love to talk politics on this blog.
